President’s Message:

Dear APATAP Members and Colleagues,

 It is an honour to step into the role of President for the next two years. Having served within APATAP and worked alongside many of you across higher education and community settings, I have seen the extraordinary expertise, compassion, and integrity that define our field. The work of threat assessment and management is complex and often challenging, yet our shared purpose—to prevent harm and foster safety—remains a constant source of inspiration.

As professionals, we are continually asked to adapt to evolving risks, technologies, and social contexts. APATAP plays a vital role in connecting disciplines, advancing evidence-based practice, and ensuring that ethical, inclusive approaches underpin all we do. Looking ahead, we’re focused on strengthening collaboration across sectors and disciplines through practical training, research, and shared resources, as well as building capability and connection across our diverse Asia–Pacific region.

I am deeply proud of the progress APATAP has made in advancing ethical practice and community engagement. Together with our talented committee and membership, I look forward to continuing this journey—fostering an inclusive, informed, and resilient professional community.
